Pattaya Thai is more than just a restaurant; it’s a legacy born from love, adventure, and the rich flavors of Thailand. My father, a Vietnam War veteran, was stationed in Thailand, where he met my mother. Their love story, spanning continents, led them to Jacksonville, Florida, where we began our journey in the food industry.
A Family’s Legacy in Thai Cuisine
In 1989, my parents opened a small Asian food store with a café on University Blvd, thanks to my mother’s amazing cooking. By 1990, we expanded to a full restaurant, and Pattaya Thai was born. The name comes from Pattaya, a beach resort in Thailand where my mother’s family still lives today.
Growing up in the restaurant, I learned everything about Thai food and the business. With over 30 years in Jacksonville, we continue to serve authentic, time-tested recipes passed down through our family.
